Welcome to Our Site

The Indian Art & Craft store makes its home on the peaceful shores of famous Malpeque Bay, Prince Edward island.  The "Craft Store", as the locals know it, opened its doors over 35 years ago.  Since its inception, the Craft Store has been owned and operated by the Sark family. Elder Raymond Sark, now deceased, opened the store as a place for local basket artisans to sell their wears. The store grew to incorporate arts and crafts from across North, Central and South America.  You can read about the history of Ray's involvement in the arts community in a book that was published featuring his collection of ash splint baskets.

The Craft Store is now owned and operated by Doreen and Charlie (Ray's Brother) Sark.  Doreen and Charlie have gathered an extensive collection of local and international arts and crafts.  The store still features local ash splint baskets, beaded jewellery and ceramic figurines and pottery.  There is also a wide selection of moccasins, books, music and carvings.

On November 24, 2016 Doreen was presented with the Premierís Award for Tourism by The Tourism Industry Association of Prince Edward Island.

On June 22nd, 2016 Doreen Sark was recognized with the Atlantic Aboriginal Entrepreneur, Lifetime Achievement Award.

On 2004 the Sark Family was presented with the Lieutenant Governorís Award for Tourism by the Tourism Industry Association of Prince Edward Island.
